Kaplan Earns MAC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ball State senior Amy Kaplan was named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week which was announced by the conference office today.

Kaplan continues to succeed on the court this season for the Cardinals. The senior opened spring break action last Monday in California with a three-set come from behind victory over Azusa Pacific's Vini Bautista (2-6, 6-2, 6-0).

She then wrapped up spring break action with a straight-set defeat over UC San Diego's Ella Pachl, by a score of 6-2, 6-3 on court No. 2.

Kaplan now owns an overall spring record of 11-1 in singles action helping the Cardinals to one of their best spring non-conference starts with an 11-2 ledger.

The reigning 2022 Mid-American Conference champions will begin league play Saturday against Western Michigan at the Northwest YMCA in Muncie, Ind. First serve is at 1 pm ET.
