Charity Griffith Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND -- Ball State track and field's senior Charity Griffith earned MAC Field Athlete of the Week honors. This marks her second time claiming this title for the 2022-23 indoor season so far.Â
After earning a pair of program records for the Ball State track & field team last Friday, senior Charity Griffith has been named the MAC Field Athlete of the Week.

Griffith's first record came in the second event of the pentathlon, when she cleared a program and facility record 1.88m (6'-2.0") in the high jump. It was the second time this season Griffith has cleared a program record in the event, with the first being a 1.85m (6'-0.75") effort at the Hawkeye Invitational.

Led by her 1080 pentathlon points in the high jump, Griffith finished the day with a program record pentathlon score of 4,179, topping her previous mark of 4,099 set at the 2022 MAC Indoor Championships.

Griffith currently ranks second among all NCAA Division I competitors in the high jump and is fifth in the nation in the pentathlon. She leads the MAC in both respective events.
