Women’s Tennis Sweeps MAC Weekly Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team swept the Mid-American Conference weekly award with senior Amy Kaplan earning MAC Women's Singles Athlete of the Week and the duo of Jessica Braun and Emily Desai earning MAC Doubles Team of the Week.
Kaplan, turned in a stellar singles performance at ACC foe Louisville last Saturday. After dropping the first set to Louisville's Jamilah Snells she fought her way back in a big way to take the three-set thriller by winning sets two and three 6-4. Kaplan's come from behind victory clinched match point for Ball State allowing the Cardinals to beat UofL 4-3.
The dynamic duo of Braun and Desai breezed past Louisville's Cici Xin and Jamilah Snells on court two. The Cardinals' twosome earned a 6-2 victory in doubles action to help earn the first point of the match over ACC foe Louisville. The win eventually was one of the key components to the Cardinals 4-3 victory at Louisville.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action at home Friday, Feb. 3 against James Madison. First serve is at 1:30 p.m. ET at the Northwest YMCA.
