
Charity Griffith Qualifies for 2023 NCAA Indoor T&F Championships

MUNCIE, IND. – Ball State track and field's Charity Griffith has qualified to compete at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, announced by the NCAA. Griffith will compete in the high jump and the pentathlon.

Griffith qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships for the second year in a row. She placed 15th in the high jump (1.73m / 5-8.0) and 16th in the pentathlon (2,716) in the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Griffith's high jump mark of 1.90m / 6-2.75, set at the 2023 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, has her tied for third in the nation. Her pentathlon score of 4,337 points (after track conversions) ranks her at fourth in the nation.

Griffith was named the MAC's Most Valuable Performer at the MAC Indoor Championships, scoring 26 solo points out of Ball State's 83.

She won the pentathlon with 4,315 points (before track conversions), winning four out of the five events. Griffith placed first in the 800m running a 2:21.53, the 60m hurdles (8.69), the high jump (1.87m), and the long jump (5.95m). She notched a personal best score in the high jump event (1.90m / 6-2.75), and she set another Ball State program record with her indoor pentathlon score.
Griffith will compete in the pentathlon on Friday, March 10 beginning at 11:50 a.m. EST with the 60m hurdles. She is entered in the high jump event on Saturday, March 11 at 3:00 p.m. EST.Â
