Cardinals Finish a Competitive Second Round of Dorado Beach Collegiate

DORADO, PUERTO RICO – The Ball State men's golf team finished round two of the Dorado Beach Collegiate tied for eighth, heading into round three in a tight race with a competitive group of teams.

After round two, the Cardinals are in a five-way tie for eighth with Drexel, Kennesaw State, West Virginia, and Rutgers, and they look to finish out the Dorado Beach Collegiate strong in tomorrow's final round.

Kash Bellar still leads the Cardinals and is tied for eighth place overall. Bellar notched an eagle on the par-5, 502-yard hole No. 14. He recorded three birdies, finishing the day at 3-under (68-69—137).

Ali Khan is tied for 45th, recording four birdies in round two (72-72—144). Joey Ranieri is tied for 50th, also tallying four birdies to finish the day at 1-under (74-71—145), a 3-stroke improvement from round one.

Carter Smith is also tied for 50th, finishing at 2-over in round two (71-74—145). Griffin Hare is tied for 61st, finishing the day at 1-over and carding four birdies (74-73—147).

The Cardinals will be paired with #10 Virginia, #2 Auburn and Boston College tomorrow for round three, starting at 7:15 a.m. EST.
