Men’s Tennis Extends Win Streak to Five with Win Over IUPUI

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team won its fifth-straight match Saturday afternoon after earning a 6-1 defeat over IUPUI at the Northwest YMCA.
With the win, the Cardinals improve to 8-3 overall while the Jaguars fall to 2-11 on the season.
In doubles, the Jaguars took wins at the two and three spots to earn the team point.
Ball State redeemed itself in singles taking all six courts from IUPUI. Nathaniel Webster cruised past Tom Ciszewski on court No. 1, winning both sets by a score of 6-2. Eli Herran gave BSU the 2-1 lead with a straight set victory at the No. 4 slot over Colton Morehart, 6-3, 6-3.
Sajin Smith pushed the Cardinals cushion over the Jaguars to 3-1 after winning on court No. 5 and then Jacks Lancaster earned match point after his 7-5, 6-1 take down against IUPUI's No. 6 singles player, Eli Mercer.
Rounding out today's singles wins were Vince Orlando and Danilo Kovacevic.
The Ball State men's tennis team will head to Lajolla, California for its annual spring break trip at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships (Mar. 2-5). The Cardinals will also play a dual match against Nebraska March 2 at 2 pm ET in Lajolla.
