Fleck and Men's Golf Add Gavin Hare to Signing List

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State men's golf coach Mike Fleck has announced the signing of standout multi-sport athlete Gavin Hare to a national letter of intent. Hare is the younger brother of current Ball State golfer Griffin Hare.
Hare is a three-time regional qualifier at Tipton High School where he also stars on the school's basketball team. He has lettered in golf and basketball during all four years at Tipton and has been a three-time all-conference selection heading into his senior season of golf this spring.
"Gavin Hare is an exciting addition to our program! He is a physically gifted multi-sport student-athlete who has the skill set to be very successful at the collegiate level. Gavin has proven low round-results and approaches competition with an intentional mindset to succeed. We can't wait for his arrival on campus in the fall."
Hare recorded a third-place regional finish (71) last spring to lead the 2A Blue Devils to the 2023 IHSAA State Finals. In junior play, he was the Golfweek Junior Tour overall champion (67-69—136/-8) at the Players Club in September. He qualified for the 2023 Indiana Amateur and made the cut at Pfau Golf Course. He also qualified for the 2023 Indiana Open.
He is a member of the National Honor Society and helped Tipton to a pair of sectional championships on the hardwood.
