Parrott Leads Women’s Golf On Day Two of Diamante Intercollegiate

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Arkansas - - For the second straight day a member of the Ball State women's golf team finished with a round of 69 (-3) as senior Kiah Parrott climbed up the leaderboard into 12th place on the second day of the Diamante Intercollegiate Monday afternoon.
Coupled with an opening round 72 (E), Parrott enters Tuesday's final round at the Diamante Country Club with a score of 141 (-3), just six strokes off the lead held by Canice Screene of Boston College at 135 (-9). Parrott collected five birdies in the second round, giving her nine for the tournament.
Sophomore Jasmine Driscoll produced Ball State's second-lowest round of the day, adding five birdies of her own to card a 72 (E). Add her 71 (-1) from Sunday and she currently sits in 23rd at 143 (-1).
Overall, Ball State's golfers registered 21 total birdies Monday, raising its tournament total to 33 which is fourth among the 17-team field. The Cardinals also have one eagle, courtesy of Driscoll on the 518-yard, par-5 11th Sunday.
Ball State also continued its strong play on the course's par 5s, with eight of the team's 21 birdies coming on the four longest holes. Overall, Ball State is sixth among the field on the par 5s at -10 with an average of 4.75 strokes.
That effort has the Cardinals in ninth place at 580 (+4), just eight strokes back of fifth place. Boston College is first overall at 555 (-21).
Sophomore Madelin Boyd, who is playing as an individual and fired a career-low 69 (-3) Sunday, is currently 45th overall at 147 (+3).
For Tuesday's final round, the Cardinals will be pared with Wichita State and a group of individuals teeing off grom the 10th hole. Junior Payton Bennett will start at 9:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. CT, with the rest of the Cardinals following every eight minutes, including Boyd from the first hole at 10:10 a.m. ET / 9:10 a.m. CT.
