Tran & Lancaster Reach Doubles Semifinals of ITA Ohio Valley Regional

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Ball State men's tennis team is currently competing at the annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional which is hosted this year by Chattanooga.
The Ball State doubles tandem of Mason Tran and Jacks Lancaster are leading the way in the main doubles draw for the Cardinals after winning three matches. The twosome will advance to tomorrow's round of 16 and will face Lipscomb's Juan Lombisano and Facundo Perlov.
Eli Herran advanced to the round of 64 in the main draw of singles after defeating Kyle Totorica of Xavier in a three-set thriller, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 on Thursday. Herran then fell to Marcel Kamrowski of Middle Tennessee State in straight sets Friday morning.
In consolation singles today, Lancaster earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory versus University of Southern Indiana's Axel Sabourin and will take on Nil Moinet of Tennessee State on Saturday. Petar Petrovic also found success in the consolation singles bracket after beating Kyle Tang of Bellarmine, 6-1, 3-6, 10-5. Rounding out singles was Sajin Smith who went on to win his match 6-1, 6-3 against East Tennessee State's Francisco Lamas.
