Wiseman earns MAC Golfer of the Week honors

Senior picks up recognition from league office for the first time in his career

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State golfer Joey Wiseman was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. Wiseman shared the honor with Toledo's NJ Botha.

Wiseman shot a career-low round of 4-under (66) to earn co-medalist honors at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational last weekend. The senior ended the tournament at 2-under (71-71-66--208) and tied with Wright State's Mikkel Mathiesen.

In total, Wiseman had eight birdies and two eagles in his first tournament of the season. Wiseman was one of only three golfers in the 81-man field to card rounds of 71 or better three times.

The Corydon, Ind. native was the tournament's top scorer on par-4 holes where he averaged a tally of 3.94 strokes per hole.

Wiseman and the Cardinals return to action Sept. 12-13 for the Streamsong Invitational in Bowling Green, Fla.
