Women’s Tennis Takes All Five Singles Flights At Bethany Moore Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - It was another highly successful day on the courts for the Cardinals as Ball State took all five singles flights along with two doubles championships at the Fourth Annual Bethany Moore Invite.
In singles, Mariya Polishchuk took the Flight 1 singles crown after a 6-0, 5-7, 10-8 take down over Dayton's Neena Katauskas. The championship of the second singles bracket was a Ball State affair as Amy Kaplan played her teammate Elena Malykh. Malykh would come out atop of Kaplan, 6-3, 6-2.
Flight three doubles championship came against Dayton's Laura Greg and the Cardinals Emma Peeler. Peeler won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 for the crown. In fourth singles bracket, the title match came down to two Cardinals again, Emily Desai and Livia Lukacs. Luckas went onto win, 7-5, 7-5.
Rounding out the singles championships today was Ella Hazelbaker defeating her opponent Alice Shields, 2-6, 6-2, 10-5.
In doubles action, Peeler and Polishchuk teamed up for an 8-3 win in their title match in the top bracket while Jessica Braun and Annika Planinsek won Flight 2 doubles, 8-3.
The Ball State women's tennis team will continue fall action next weekend on the road at the Middle Tennessee Invite in Murfreesboro.
