Cardinals Land 11 on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday the 2022 Baseball Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 122 student-athletes were named to this year's squad. The Ball State baseball team recorded 11 honorees to this season's All-MAC Team.
Adam Christianson (biology, 3.75), Justin Conant (business administration, 3.55), Zach Cole, (general studies, 3.22), Ty Johnson (business administration, 3.27), Sam Klein (biology, 3.77), Zach Lane (exercise science, 3.87), Ryan Peltier (business administration, 3.41), Nick Powell (accounting, 3.41), Decker Scheffler (teaching major in physical education, 3.96), Ty Weatherly (business administration, 3.52), and Amir Wright (public relations, 3.55) all represented the Cardinals.
Christianson and Peltier received the honor for the second time, while the rest earned the recognition for the first time. It was the second-consecutive season that Ball State has produced 11 recipients.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
