Brown Named Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Freshman All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. – Collegiate Baseball Newspaper announced its annual NCAA Division I Freshmen All-Americans on Wednesday. Ball State baseball was represented by Ryan Brown who earned the honor after an outstanding year on the mound for the Cardinals.
After being named the MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year and an All-MAC Second Team selection, Brown received another postseason accolade as a member of the Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American Team. He was phenomenal in his first season in Muncie and finished the season with 65 strikeouts. He finished the season with a 4-2 record in 46 1/3 innings. He held opposing hitters to a .157 batting average and had an ERA of 2.14. In MAC only contests, he had an ERA of 1.71 and held opponents to a .160 average.
Brown is the 11th Cardinal to earn a Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American honor and the first since Drey Jameson in 2018.
