
Cardinals Host Chippewas for MAC Battle of No. 1, No. 2

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State baseball team returns to the friendly confines of the Ball Diamond at First Merchants Ballpark Complex for a four-game series against Central Michigan and a battle between No. 1 and No. 2 in the Mid-American Conference standings. The series is scheduled to start on Friday, April 29, with first pitch coming at 3 p.m.
The Cardinals are coming off a series sweep at Northern Illinois, where BSU outscored NIU 43-7. Ball State enters the weekend with a 25-14 overall record and are 19-4 in MAC play, while Central Michigan has a 28-10 record and a 21-1 mark in league play.
Maloney Magic
Rich Maloney won his 900th game as a head coach in game two of the doubleheader at NIU. With the series sweep, he now has 902 wins. He is currently ranked 16th among active NCAA DI coaches. The usual exciting trip to the ballpark will be infused with more fun thanks to First Merchants Bank, as the following deals and promotions will be in play: The first 300 spectators to arrive will receive a lunch package good for a hot dog, chips, and Pepsi drink. The first 200 spectators at each venue will receive an event T-Shirt (one shirt per fan). There will be drawings for prize packs during each inning
