MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team closes out its Mid-American Conference regular season this weekend with a road match at Northern Illinois Friday (2 p.m. ET) and a home competition against Eastern Michigan Sunday (1 p.m. ET).
The Cardinals 16-3 (7-1 MAC) currently sit atop of the MAC standings while Huskies own a 15-11 (2-6 MAC) record, and the Eagles have a 14-15 (2-6 MAC) ledger this season.
Ball State won its first meeting against Northern Illinois in Muncie by a score of 6-1 on April 3. The Cardinals lone loss in MAC play came against Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Michigan, resulting in a 4-3 loss for Ball State on April 1.
Against Eastern Michigan, the Cardinals will pay tribute to their two seniors Hannah Davies and Livia Lukacs.
After this weekend, the Cardinals will host the 2022 Mid-American Conference Tournament at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center/Northwest YMCA from April 30-May 1. Ball State earned the right to host after the Cardinals claimed the program's third MAC Conference regular season championship last season. Ball State head women's tennis coach Max Norris has guided the program to all three of its MAC regular season championships (2016, 2017 and 2021) and to the only MAC Tournament championship (2016).
