Cardinals finish 11th overall
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Ball State men's golf team finished play at the Purdue Invitational Sunday. The Cardinals finished 11th at 51-over (298-304-301--903) but were only 11 shots away from finishing in the top half of a field consisting of a majority of Big Ten and Mid-American Conference teams.
After battling cold temperatures for the first two rounds a day ago, Ball State and the field were greeted with warmer temperatures Sunday but had to contend with gusts of over 20 mph winds during the final round at the par-71 Ackerman-Allen Golf Course.

Ali Khan finished just three shots behind in a tie for 33rd at 11-over (74-76-74--224). The freshman matched his teammate's par output with nine and added three birdies on the day.
Joey Ranieri had a team-best 12 pars in his final circuit en route to a finish in a tie for 53rd at 17-over (77-78-75--230). Colin Nasser totaled three birdies, including two on the back nine, to end in a tie for 62nd at 20-over (82-75-76--233).
Griffin Hare rounded out the Cardinal contingent and finished 73rd at 26-over (77-81-81--239).
Illinois won the event at 10-under (842), followed by host Purdue (850).
