Johnson Named MAC Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly Player and Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Ty Johnson was named the MAC Pitcher of the Week after a stellar outing on the mound for Ball State.
Johnson pitched an absolute gem against FAMU where he had a no-hitter through six innings of work. He only gave up one hit, which came in the bottom of the seventh. He struck out a career-high nine batters as he posted the most innings pitched in a single appearance with six innings. He picked up his first win of the season and moved to 1-1 on the year.
Ball State begins Mid-American Conference play on Friday, March 11, as Eastern Michigan comes to Muncie for a four-game series. The home opener on Friday is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start time.
