MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (7-7, 2-2 MAC) posted a 7-0 sweep over Binghamton (1-14, 0-4 MAC) on Friday afternoon at the Northwest YMCA.
The Cardinals grabbed a 1-0 advantage by taking wins on courts one and three in that order and were up 5-2 at the No. 2 spot.
Danilo Kovacevic and Chris Adams posted a 6-2 victory on the top court before the No. 3 twosome of Parrish Simmons and Vince Orlando clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 take down against Binghamton's Courage Crawford and Anshumat Srivastava.
Nathaniel Webster exited singles action first for the Cardinals after taking both sets by a 6-1 decision against Crawford at the No. 4 slot. Adams also breezed through his match over Joshua Roe Flannelly, 6-2, 6-0 on court No. 3 to give the Cardinals a 3-0 advantage over the Bearcats.
Ball State's No. 6 singles player Eli Herran clinched the overall dual-match victory for the Cardinals with a 6-2, 6-1 defeat versus Srivastava.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues Mid-American Conference action at home on Sunday when it hosts Buffalo at the Northwest YMCA. That match will more than likely be played indoors due to the weather forecast. First serve for that match is at noon.
