
Men’s Swimming & Diving Travels To IUPUI Friday

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State men's swimming & diving team returns to action Friday, along with the women's squad, when it travels to IUPUI for a 4 p.m. dual at the IUPUI Natatorium.
The Cardinals (1-0; 0-0 MAC) are returning to action for the first time since a 170.5-86.5 dual victory over Eastern Illinois on Oct. 28.
Ball State won 10 of the 14 events in the meet, with eight different swimmers picking up individual victories. Senior Jack Wolfred led the way with first-place efforts in both the 100 freestyle (46.79) and 100 breaststroke (1:00.05).
BSU will look to carry over that success into Friday's meet against an IUPUI squad which earned a pair of dual victories last time out, starting with a 171-71 win at Green Bay (Oct. 27) and followed by a 213-87 victory at Milwaukee (Oct. 28). Overall, the Jaguars enter the meet with a 6-2 (2-0 Horizon League) dual record.

The last time Ball State and IUPUI went head-to-head was a Jan. 5, 2018, double dual hosted by IUPUI. The Jaguars claimed a 229-71 victory over BSU on the day.

In the latest NCAA Division I Top Time Rankings as compiled by CollegeSwimming.com, the Cardinals have 10 student-athletes ranked in scoring position in their respective events after the first meet of the season.
Junior Joey Garberick is BSU's top-ranked swimmer, holding the top spot in the MAC in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 55.20.
