Ball State Set to Battle Toledo, Western Michigan

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State soccer team returns to action for a Thursday matchup at Toledo, followed by a Sunday contest at home against Western Michigan. The Cardinals are coming off a 2-0-0 weekend against NIU and Bowling Green.
Earlier this week, Bethany Moser earned the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. She was a key cog in the Cardinal defense as she helped secure a 2-0 record over the week. She made three saves in the BSU 4-1 victory over NIU. She recorded a clean sheet with one save against Bowling Green. She has three shutouts to go along with 38 saves on the season.
Last Time Out
Ball State improved to 4-3-4 overall and 3-0-1 in MAC play after the team picked up two wins last week. Against NIU, Avery Fenchel recorded a brace and Emily Roper and Tiffani Torres each added their first goals of the season. Abby Elgert, Alex McPhee, Lexi Fraley, Maya Millis, and Kaitlyn Fraser each added an assist. In the Sunday matchup with Bowling Green, Fraley and Lexy Smith collected one goal each. Smith and Millis each picked up an assist.

The Cardinals are led by Fenchel with eight goals, which is tied for the MAC lead and tied for 20th in the NCAA. Caldwell is second on the team with four goals, while Fraley has two goals.
