Cardinals set for 6k run in Athens, Ohio
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State cross country team is set to begin its postseason at the Mid-American Conference Championships Saturday in Athens, Ohio. The annual 6k run is set for an 11 a.m. ET start at the Ohio University Golf Course.
"In the summer, it's hard to see the end, but we try to be process-driven in what we're doing," head coach Adrian Wheatley said. "In everything we do, just do it to the best of our ability in that day, in that moment, and it will shine when it needs to shine. It's always fun to see what happens at the 'big show.' We always believe that we need to be the best versions of ourselves on that day.
"We talk a lot about in our program is breaking up the form chart. If we come in ranked X, let's improve upon that and continue to move up. If we do that, then we're going to be in a good spot."
The Cardinals will aim to improve upon their seventh-place finish from a season ago and have competed in multiple 6k events already this season.
"We've had a really solid block of training," Sarah Greer added. "We have really great packs going, so I think if we work together, we'll do really well."
Ball State recently wrapped up its regular season at the Falcon Invite (Oct. 14) when multiple runners set season-best times.
The 2022 MAC Championships will be a non-ticketed event that is open to the public. A live stream and live results will be available as well for those who cannot be in attendance.
