Ranieri leads Cardinals on first day of Purdue Fall Invitational

Senior is tied for 27th after 36 holes of play
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Ball State's Joey Ranieri is tied for 27th at 4-over (76-72--148) to lead the Cardinals after the first day of the Purdue Invitational Monday. Ranieri racked up eight birdies and 18 pars in 36 holes at the par-72 Kampen Golf Course.
Griffin Hare is tied for 44th at 8-over (76-76--152). The redshirt sophomore also totaled eight birdies, split evenly between the front and back nines.
Kash Bellar (78-77--155) and Ali Khan (80-75--155) are tied for 60th at 11-over. The duo combined for 10 birdies on the day.
Rounding out the lineup, Joey Wiseman is tied for 72nd at 17-over (79-82--161).
Over on the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course in the individual portion of the week, Carter Smith is tied for 22nd at 4-over (73-75--148). The freshman carded five birdies, including four in the first round of play.
Drew Todd is 30th at 6-over (73-77--150), while Carson Orr is tied for 35th at 11-over (80-75--155).
Ball State sits in 13th at 33-over with one round to play. The Cardinals are paired with Louisiana Tech and Maryland for the final 18 holes Tuesday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET off holes No. 16-18.
