Women’s Tennis Continues To Shine At MTSU Invite

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Ball State women's tennis team continues to shine this fall and today's outcome was no different on day two at the Middle Tennessee State University Invitational.
Ball State posted a 12-3 mark in singles action while managing to win the doubles point over Lipscomb after taking two of the top three courts from the Bison.
In singles, Jessica Braun, Annika Planinsek, Emily Desai, Ella Hazelbaker and Jacqueline Pearsall all took down their respective opponents from Bellarmine in straight sets.
The Cardinals also dominated singles play against host Middle Tennessee State with Mariya Polishchuk, Amy Kaplan, Planinsek, Livia Lukacs and Desai defeating their competition in two sets.
Elena Malykh registered a two-set tiebreaker against MTSU's Sana Garakani after dropping the first frame of action, 3-6. Malykh then fought back to take the match by a score of 6-3, 10-8.
The Cardinals faced Lipscomb in their lone double's competition today. Kaplan paired up with teammate Lukacs for a 6-3 victory versus Anait Arutianian and Sofiia Paladi. The doubles tandem of Desai and Malykh were also winners after beating Taisia Yakunina and Alina Cherniaieva, 6-1.
The Ball State women's tennis team will finish its three-day weekend at the MTSU Invite on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. ET with one round of singles and one round of doubles.
