Opening Tip:
- Sixth year head coach Fred Castro owns a 4-7 record against the Cardinals. Ball State swept the home and away series in Castro's first and second seasons with the Eagles. BSU split the series with EMU last year with the Eagles winning in Worthen Arena and the Cardinals defeating the Eagles on their home court by a score of 68-64 on Jan. 23.
- Wednesday's game against Eastern Michigan will mark the 86th time in program history the two schools have met with the Eagles leading the all-time series, 44-41.
- Head coach Brady Sallee holds an overall record of 12-9 against Eastern Michigan from 2012-13 to present.
- Ball State is looking to rebound from its 51-54 loss to Kent State Sunday in Worthen Arena. It was an up-and-down ball game but the Golden Flashes made a layup with 17 second left to seal their fate. True freshman Ally Becki along with teammate redshirt junior Anna Clephane led the Cardinals with 10 points apiece.
- Eastern Michigan enters Wednesday's contest with a 1-1 Mid-American Conference record. The Eagles fell to Toledo in their league opener 48-64 and then recently defeated Central Michigan 80-60 on Saturday. Arena Combs led the Eagles against the Chippewas with 16 points.
-It may be cold outside but the Cardinals tend to get hot in the month of January under 10th-year head coach Brady Sallee. Sallee owns an overall record of 48-26 (.657) in the month of January dating back to his first season in 2012-13.

The Cardinals currently rank 13th in the nation among its Division I peers in 3-point field goals per game (9.2). Ball State also ranks in the top-50 in 3-point field goal attempts coming in at 11 with 384 and 24th in the nation for total 3-pointers with 120.
Sallee vs. the State of Michigan:
Ball State is 38-21 against Michigan schools during head coach Brady Sallee's 10 seasons after beating Detroit Mercy (twice), Western Michigan (15 times), Eastern Michigan (12 times), Central Michigan (seven times) and Oakland University (twice).
Next Game:
After today's contest, the Cardinals will play at Akron on Saturday for a 2 p.m. ET tipoff in James A. Rhodes Arena. Ball State will finally return home next week on Wednesday, Jan. 19 against Toledo at 7 p.m. ET in Worthen Arena.
