Kim Leads, Cardinals Sit in Seventh

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's golf team was back in action on Monday for the first and second rounds of the Cardinal Classic at The Players Club. Liz Kim led the Cardinals with a two-round effort of 143 (-1) and has a one stroke lead. BSU as a squad is in seventh after two rounds at 619 (+43), just 10 strokes back of the lead.
Kim posted an opening round of 71 (-1) with a two-birdie performance. She was in second place two shots off the leader. In the second round, she added two more birdies and finished the round with a 72 (E). She moved up one spot on the leaderboard into the top spot with a 143 (-1) on the day. She collected four birdies on the day.
Morgan Lewis started the day with three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on the par-4 12th and the par-3 13th. She finished the round with a 77 (+5) and was tied for 28th. She improved on the morning round and posted a 75 (+3), with a birdie, in the second round. On the par-3 seventh, she nearly recorded a hole-in-one and made the short birdie putt. She rocketed up 13 spots in the standings into a tie for 15th with a two-round effort of 152 (+8). She finished with two birdies across the two rounds.
With an opening-round mark of 80 (+8), Dylann Armstrong was tied for 46th. She picked up two birdies in the first round. In the second round she birdied the final hole of the day and recorded an 81 (+9). Her two-round tally of 161 (+17) has her tied for 53rd. She has three birdies heading into the final round.
Payton Bennett notched an opening-round mark of 79 (+7) with two birdies on the round. She was tied for 40th heading into the second round. In the second round, she tallied two birdies and finished with an 86 (+14). She is tied for 65th with a two-round total of 165 (+21). She has four birdies for the tournament.
Tiegan Taylor birdied the par-4 17th and started the day with an 83 (+11) and was tied for 61st. She added a birdie on the par-5 second during her second round. She posted a second-round score of 84 (+12). She has recorded two birdies for the tournament and is tied for 73rd with a 167 (+23).
Ja Santadusit is currently in 85th after a two-round score of 175 (+31). In the first round, she picked up one birdie on the par-5 fourth and finished with an 85 (+13). She posted a 90 (+18) in the second round and finished the day with one birdie. She is competing as an individual and her score will not count towards the team score.
Elizabeth Amendola started the day with a morning round of 93 (+21) and was tied for 86th. She recorded a birdie on the par-4 10th and notched a second-round mark of 92 (+20). She is in 87th with a two-round tally of 185 (+41). She is competing as an individual and will not count towards the team score.
The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and live results can be found here. The Cardinals will start on holes seven, eight, and nine. The individual BSU golfers will begin on the 18th.
