Men’s Tennis Sends Seniors Out In Style With 6-1 Win Over Buffalo

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's tennis team (17-5, 6-4 MAC) closed out its 2021 season on a high note after defeating Buffalo (4-8, 2-7 MAC) 6-1 Sunday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.
Prior to the match, the Cardinals paid tribute to their four seniors, Chris Adams, Bryce Bonin, Khamasi Muhiga and Alex Robillard.
Ball State claimed the doubles point and never looked back. Ball State registered wins on courts two and three for the early 1-0 edge over the Bulls.
Eli Herran and Bryce Bonin beat Buffalo's Finn Macnamara and Tom Owen 6-2 at the No. 3 spot right before Thibault de Negri and Parrish Simmons sealed the deal with their 6-4 victory on court two.
The Cardinals then raced out to a decisive advantage in singles play, taking first sets on all six courts. Herran was dominant on court five taking down Greg Hastings in rapid fashion at slot No. 5, 6-2, 6-3. Danilo Kovacevic followed suit with a straight set defeat on the top court.
Simmons would then clinch the match for Ball State after beating Owen at position six, 6-2, 7-5.
Rounding out today's wins for the Cardinals were de Negri and Sajin Smith at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, respectively.
