Women’s Golf Seventh Entering Final Round at MAC Championships

STOW, Ohio -- Friday was not a day for low scores at the MAC Women's Golf Championships.
The average for the field was higher than 80 at Silver Lake Country Club. And with 36 holes of action on day one of the event, the numbers added up for a lot of teams.
Ball State finished the day in seventh place after team rounds of 320 and 327. Kiah Parrott and Morgan Lewis are tied for 26th as the top BSU players on the leaderboard.
Kent State, the nation's 13th-ranked team, found itself one shot behind Northern Illinois after the opening round but grabbed a stranglehold on the tournament with a 2-under-par 286 in the afternoon to move ahead by 27 strokes.
The third and final round will be played Saturday at Silver Lake. Ball State is paired with Western Michigan with tee times beginning at 9:10 a.m. on the 10th tee.
