April 15, 2021 | Women's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. - Another Indiana All-Star has made a commitment to the Ball State women's basketball program, as ninth-year head coach Brady Sallee has announced the signing of Madelyn Bischoff (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli).
Bischoff, is the fifth addition to the Cardinals 2021-22 class and will join a class featuring; Ally Becki (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg High School) … Makenna Burch (Tulsa, Okla., Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College/Jenks High School) … Marie Kiefer (Melbourne, Ky./Bishop Brossart High School) and Jazmyn Turner (Marion, Ind./Wabash Valley Community College/Marion High School).
"We are so excited to be able to welcome Madelyn to our program," Sallee said. "The thing I love about her the most is that she set her sights on what she wanted and refused to settle for anything less. She truly earned this opportunity. Clearly, she solidified herself as one of the best in the state. Her accolades speak for themselves. But the impact I believe she will have in our program centers around the amount of work that she put in behind the scenes to become the player she is. Her work ethic is impressive and for me, made this decision a no-brainer!"
Bischoff who was recently named to the Indiana All-Star team along with fellow future Cardinal Becki, is a 5-9 guard from Roncalli High School. She finished her high school career on a high note, leading the Royals to their first sectional title since 2016 while also averaging 21.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.2 assists per contest.
This season Bischoff earned All-Marion County accolades along with being tabbed to the All-Metro and All-Circle City Conference teams.
She has been a consistent scoring threat for Roncalli throughout her career. In 2019, Bischoff scored a career high 39 points in Roncalli's quarterfinal win at the IHSAA Class 4A Girls Basketball State Tournament against Pike. She then went on to score 16 in the semifinals in a victory over Southport and posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds against Ben Davis.
Bischoff improved every season with the Royals, averaging 17.7 points per game as a sophomore and then scored 18.3 points per game her junior year.
Bischoff finished her high school career with 1,532 points, ranking third on the Royals' all-time scoring list. She owns the program record for most 3-pointers made in a season (182) and most points in a postseason game (39).
Bischoff is one of only six players from Roncalli who has been named as an Indiana All-Star.
