United In Flight: CVC Kicks Off 2021 Membership Drive

MUNCIE, Ind. - - On April 2, Ball State Athletics introduced an exciting new initiative: United In Flight – a collective opportunity to INVEST, IMPACT and INSPIRE the student-athlete experience.

Cardinals fans took the message to heart the following Tuesday (April 6) on One Ball State Day, supporting the athletics general funds and 19 programs with a record 1,803 gifts totaling over $162,000.

It was an impressive start for the initiative which will rely on the support of Cardinal Nation to help sustain the department's recent momentum and prepare Ball State student-athletes for a lifetime of success.

In the midst of an unprecedented year, Ball State student-athletes have demonstrated an inspirational level of resilience and courage as they achieved new heights – in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.

The next phase of the United in Flight initiative kicks off today (April 15), with the 2021 Cardinal Varsity Club (CVC) Membership Drive. The time is now to support Ball State student-athletes by renewing or initiating your CVC Membership!

As part of the membership kickoff, Ball State is excited to announce a new and improved CVC website, which can now be found at www.cardinalvarsityclub.com. In addition to the updated design and easier navigation, the new website highlights the impact members of Cardinal Nation can make by investing in Ball State student-athletes.

In addition, in order to better communicate the mission of the Cardinal Varsity Club and to inspire new members to join, several important enhancements have been made to the CVC:

A new benefits chart details the various CVC membership levels and associated benefits
The Cardinal Excellence Fund is the new name for the CVC general fund. Contributions are used primarily to support student-athlete scholarships, in addition to other critical needs. Gifts to the Cardinal Excellence Fund will also continue to determine your CVC membership level and related benefits.
Sport-specific funds have been renamed Sport Championship Funds. These funds are available for all 19 varsity sports, as well as spirit squads.
Membership upgrades can now be done gradually over a three-year period. Donors will be recognized at the higher membership level immediately and throughout the three years as long as they maintain the annual payment schedule.
