March 31, 2021 | Soccer
MUNCIE, IND. – Ball State midfielder Nicky Potts was named the MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer.
Â
Potts assisted on both Ball State goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the Cardinals earned a crucial win over Central Michigan to leapfrog the Chippewas into first place in the MAC West Division standings.
Â
The junior from Nuneaton, England, fed Chelcy Ralph for a header on a free kick in the first half to give BSU a one-goal lead. Then in overtime, she threaded a beautiful ball to a charging Tatiana Mason for the game winner in the 98th minute.
Â
Potts, who scored on a perfectly executed free kick a week earlier against Eastern Michigan, has now registered at least one point in three straight games. She was an All-MAC First Team selection a season ago.
