February 03, 2021 | Men's Tennis
MUNCIE, Ind. - Senior Chris Adams of the Ball State men's tennis team has been tabbed Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Adams came through in a big way for the Cardinals in both their matches last weekend on the road at Cleveland State, leading BSU to back-to-back 4-3 victories over the Vikings on Saturday and Sunday.
Adams took three-set thrillers at the No. 3 singles position over Cleveland State's Maxime Mareschal-Hay, 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(3) on Saturday and then mimicked that performance Sunday over CSU's Clark Bilinovich 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 7-6(7). He was the last match on the court both times.
With Adams clinching both wins for the Cardinals, BSU improved to 3-1 overall for the season and will open home action on Friday against Xavier. First serve is at 2 p.m. ET at the Northwest Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
