Tyler Ruetschle Picked As MAC Pitcher Of The Week
February 23, 2021 | Baseball
After a dominant relief performance in a win over nationally-ranked Arizona, junior right-hander Tyler Ruetschle has been selected as MAC Pitcher of the Week.
Ruetschle, a native of Durango, Colorado, worked 5.2 scoreless innings and struck out nine to shut down Arizona in a 5-2 Ball State win. It was the second win over Arizona of the weekend for BSU, who won 8-7 in 11 innings the night before.Â
Ruetschle came to Ball State in the fall of 2019 and impressed in fall ball. He pitched in six games in the shortened 2020 season before making a splashy debut for 2021.Â
Ball State baseball is scheduled to play at the Swig & Swine Classic Feb. 27-28 in Charleston, S.C.
