Men’s Volleyball Completes Weekend MIVA Sweep Over Lindenwood
February 21, 2021 | Men's Volleyball
The Cardinals extend their win streak to seven; remains undefeated in MIVA action
MUNCIE, Ind. - The Cardinals (7-1, 4-0 MIVA) picked up their seventh-straight win today while remaining undefeated in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) action after earning another 3-0 sweep over Lindenwood (3-6, 0-6 MIVA) in Worthen Arena.
Junior outside attacker Kaleb Jenness pretty much mimicked his performance from Saturday's win, after leading the Cardinals offensively with 18 kills off of 34 swings for a .353 hitting percentage. Jenness also tallied six digs.
Jenness said after the game that he had been working really hard at practice managing the balls that he couldn't get a good swing on while also picking up his defensive game.
He also gave a shout out to his teammates saying that the Cardinals just had an overall great performance all around this weekend.
A team would be nowhere without their setter as senior Quinn Isaacson led the offense with a .514 success rate after dishing out 37 assists while helping seven of his teammates record at least two or more kills. He also added six digs and a block assist.
Junior outside attacker Brandon Shepherd, who has been seeing more playing time, finished second on the team offensively with 10 kills while also adding two block assists.
Today's victory wasn't easy and at times all three sets could've gone to either team. Fortunately for the Cardinals' they were able to rely on their veterans to make some smart decisions at the net which allowed BSU to come out atop over the Lions this afternoon.
The Ball State men's volleyball team continues MIVA action at home Saturday, Feb. 27 against rival Ohio State at 7 p.m. ET in Worthen Arena.
