MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis (2-2) looks to extend its win streak to three Saturday when it travels to Youngstown State (3-4) for two matches with first serves starting at 11 a.m. ET and 3 p.m. ET, respectively.
"Youngstown State is full of talented and smart players," Ball State head women's tennis coach Max Norris said. "Mickael always plays a tough schedule and his team always competes hard. We are excited for this road test."
The Cardinals faced two very tough opponents on the road to open the 2021 spring season after traveling to Louisville and Notre Dame. BSU quickly rebounded after those losses, winning its last two against Valparaiso (6-1) and capturing a 4-3 stunner over Middle Tennessee last Saturday at home.
The match against the Panthers was clinched by Emma Peeler after she took a three set thriller (6-1, 3-6, 7-6) over Middle Tennessee's Lee Barnard on the top court. For her efforts, Peeler was named this week's Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week.
After this weekend, Ball State returns home when it hosts Oakland University on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. ET and then against on Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. ET. Both matches will be played at the Northwest YMCA Tennis Center.
