
Women's Basketball Set To Host Buffalo Saturday In Second Meeting This Week

• Saturday's game against Buffalo will mark the 32nd time in program history the two schools have met, with he Cardinals leading the all-time series, 18-13.Â
• Ball State won the two-game Mid-American Conference series against the Bulls last season posting a 69-65 victory on Jan. 22 in Worthen Arena before defeating Buffalo on the road on Feb. 15, 69-58, at University Arena. The Cardinals are off to a good start this year as well to sweep the series after beating Buffalo 76-63 on the road Wednesday.
• Brady Sallee owns an 8-6 (.571) ledger when coaching against the Bulls from 2012-13 until present.
• Ball State and Buffalo's first-ever meeting was on Jan. 30 at Buffalo in 1998-99. The Bulls won that meeting 71-63 and would go onto win the next two over the Cardinals. Ball State's first-ever victory over Buffalo was in Worthen Arena on Feb. 9 by a score of 72-59.
• These two teams just faced each other Wednesday night in Mid-American Conference action at the Alumni Center. The Cardinals used a complete team effort as Ball State got 32 points from its bench Wednesday night in a win at Buffalo. BSU had nine different players score against the Bulls. Ball State closed out a tight first quarter with a 14-12 edge over the Buffalo and never looked back. For the game, Brown led BSU both offensively and defensively with 15 points and 13 rebounds for her 44th career double-double.Â

Brown is also currently third on the list of active NCAA DI for career double-double leaders with 42. The Cardinals rank eighth in the nation in free throw attempts and 13th in free throws made.

Senior forward Oshlynn Brown ranks first in rebounding in Mid-American Conference games only, averaging 11.9 per contest and is eighth in scoring with 19.0 ppg. The Cardinals are second in field goal percentage (.453) and fifth in rebounding offense (38.2) and offense (36.7). Currently, the Cardinals sit in sixth place in the MAC standings as of Feb. 19, 2021.

Ball State heads back onto the road for its final two regular season games of the season when it travels to Northern Illinois on Feb. 24 for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off in DeKalb, Ill. The Cardinals' then head to Toledo on Saturday, Feb. 27 for a noon tip against the Toledo Rockets at Savage Arena.
2021 MAC Tourney:
Since the Mid-American Conference did away with the MAC East and West Divisions this year, the upcoming MAC Tournament will no longer have first round play in games. Instead, the top eight teams will go straight to Cleveland. The quarterfinals will begin on March 10 at 11 a.m. in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse with the semfinals being played on Friday, March 12 and then the championship game on Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. ET
