Information for Thursday's Ball State Tune-Up

One final time on the track before the big meet. The Ball State track & field team can improve its standing and get another competition rep when it hosts the Ball State Tune-Up this Thursday. Field events are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Running events are expected to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Head coach Brian Etelman says the meet serves different purposes for different groups on the team. Some athletes are in a great place and can improve their standing, while others can get a lot out of just being in a true competition.Â
"This is truly a tune-up for us, as we have a group that's starting to get in a groove and can be in a really great place for the championships," Etelman said. "For some it's a great chance to be in the uniform and, while they'll be fine, may be a little behind in training and can get more comfortable in their rhythm."
Currently, seven individual Cardinals and the 4x400 relay team own top-5 marks in the MAC:

Some of the above may be able to improve their times for the MAC Indoor Championships, set for Feb. 26-27 at Central Michigan. Etelman said Elka Machan will run the mile Thursday, her first indoor mile this season. Anasja Troutman can move up the leaderboard in the 60m hurdle as well. Other athletes will use the meet as a chance to get right for when the stage is its biggest in a week.
