Tyler Green Named MAC Golfer of the Week

Green went 3-0-0 to lead Ball State at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play

MUNCIE, Ind. -- After winning all three of his matches at the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play, Ball State's Tyler Green has been named the MAC Golfer of the Week.

Green picked up right where he left off at the end of the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season. He tied for third in what proved to be the final event of that season in a strong field at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate.

After a layoff of 11 months from collegiate competition, Green opened the new 2021 season with a bang. None of his matches reached the final hole this week at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Florida.

The redshirt senior from Columbia City, Indiana, defeated Evansville's Spencer Wagner, 2&1, Drake's Shayne Patel, 3&2, and DePaul's Noah Kolar, 4&3.

Green led Ball State to a share of second place at its season-opening event. The Cardinals will return to action March 7-8 with SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas.
