Cardinals Welcome Huskies for Senior Day

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State soccer team returns to the friendly confines of the Briner Sports Complex on Sunday. Prior to Sunday's match against Northern Illinois, the Cardinals will recognize our seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program. First touch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
The 11 seniors that will be honored are Grace Alsop, Claudia Como, Sammi Corcoran, Alex DeRuvo, Jenna Dombrowski, Kerrigan Johnson, Tatiana Mason, Kennedy Metzger, Lizzie Philibin, Chelcy Ralph, and Lexy Smith. During their time at BSU the squad has compiled a 39-20-9 record and has produced a .646 winning percentage.
Ralph leads Ball State with four goals and eight points. Mason, Nicky Potts, and Lexi Fraley all have two goals apiece, in a tie for second on the team for most goals. BSU has five players with one goal. DeRuvo has been the main keeper for the Cardinals and has made 57 saves on the season.
The Cardinals enter Sunday's contest with an overall record of 4-9-2 and a 2-5-2 mark in MAC play. The Huskies come into the match with a 5-10-2 overall and are 2-5-2 in the conference. Ball State holds a 14-6-5 edge in the series and has won the last five meetings.
NIU is led by Haley Hoppe with 16 points, seven goals and two assists. Claudia Muessig is second on the squad with six points coming on three goals. The Huskies have five other players with at least one goal. Sadie McGill has played the majority of minutes in net for NIU and has made 71 saves on the year.
