Cosby named MAC West Player of the Week for second straight week

Fifth-year safety registered a game-high 11 tackles
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State safety Bryce Cosby was tabbed as the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Cosby picked up recognition for the second consecutive week after leading the Cardinals to a 38-31 victory at Eastern Michigan. He also earned the honor following a 45-20 at Western Michigan on Oct. 11.
Against the Eagles, the Louisville, Ky. native registered a game-high 11 tackles and had 1.0 sack with a forced fumble. It was his ninth career double-digit tackles performance and his third of the season.
Cosby is the only player in the country to log multiple games of at least 10 tackles, 1.0 sack and one forced fumble on the year, and he's done it in back-to-back games.
Cosby is the fourth different player to garner weekly recognition from the league office this season, joining Justin Hall (Oct. 4), Drew Plitt (Oct. 11) and Nathan Snyder (Sept. 20).
Ball State returns to action Saturday, Oct. 23 when it hosts Miami for its annual Homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET inside Scheumann Stadium.
