Record Semester In Classroom Leads To Long List Of Scholastic All-Americans

In a record-setting season both on and off the competition floor, Ball State gymnastics was honored with a long list of student-athlete honored as WCGA Scholastic All-Americans. As a team, the Cardinals had an impressive 3.61 GPA, including a program record 3.76 mark in the spring. Fourteen of the team's 18 gymnasts were honored for achieving at least a 3.5 GPA. Â
The team GPA increased 4.03% from the previous year and the number of gymnasts with a 3.5 GPA also increased. As a result, Ball State improved six spots nationally in team GPA ranking.Â

In addition to these increases in the classroom, the 2020 Cardinals enjoyed arguably the finest season in school history. The team set a new meet scoring record three different times and had a head-to-head competition record of 11-4 that includes wins over Pittsburgh and North Carolina. As the season was stopped short before the championship meet, the league's coaches selected Ball State as conference runner-up.Â
