Baseball pitcher Kyle Nicolas is a Major League scouting director's dream: tall, athletic and he throws gas. In 2020 Nicolas was backing all his tools up with his performance on the field as well.Â
In four stars this spring, Nicolas put up a 2.74 ERA with 37 strikeouts and only seven walks in 23 innings. Â Those are ridiculous numbers that may very well catch the attention of MLB teams in the June first-year player draft.
In this Cardinal Check-In, Nicolas reflects back on the shortened 2020 season, the confidence he was playing with and the process of pro evaluation that's gone on in the time since the season was halted.
