Soccer Announces Spring Schedule and Alumni Weekend
February 06, 2020 | Soccer
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University soccer team has finalized its competition schedule for the spring of 2020. In conjunction with the scheduled matches is the program's annual alumni weekend which will go hand-in-hand with the groundbreaking of the university's new indoor practice facility and the football team's spring game.
"We are excited about our spring schedule," said head coach Josh Rife. "The team has been working hard and it will be nice to compete again. This is a great time to face some different opponents and try some new things that we were not able to do in the fall. All our players should get quality game time that will help prepare them for next season."
The Cardinals will host three home matches this spring as well as their alumni game. The first competition will take place February 22 against Huntington. The time for that match is dependent on the weather. Nearly one month later, the Cardinals will host UIndy on March 28 at 1 p.m.
The lone road contest on BSU's spring slate is at IUPUI on Saturday, April 3. The Cardinals and Jaguars will kick at 6 p.m.
The schedule comes to a close on Sunday, April 19, when the Cardinals host Butler at noon. The alumni game will take place before the match with the Bulldogs at 10 a.m.
Ball State's alumni weekend will begin with the groundbreaking of the recently announced indoor practice facility. Alumni, along with current players and coaches, will then join together for a tailgate before the football team's spring game kicks off. Times for these events will be announced shortly.
"I am really excited for my first alumni weekend," Rife said. "We believe there will be several opportunities for alumni to connect with the current team and other athletic teams as well as reconnecting with each other. We're looking forward to welcoming back all our alumni and hope to see many of them there that weekend."
