Ball State Adds Eight More to the Class of 2020

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State football head coach Mike Neu welcomed 15 student-athletes during the early signing period in December and added to the class with eight more newcomers in February – Chris Agyemang, Jack Blanco, Lucas Borrow, Justin Campbell, Qian Magwood, Keionté Newson, Joshua Tarango and J.T. Wahee.
The 2020 signing class includes five offensive linemen, four wide receivers, four defensive linemen, three defensive backs, three linebackers, two running backs, one punter and one athlete. The class features players from 12 states – Indiana (six), Ohio (three), Missouri (two), Tennessee (two), California (two), Georgia (one), Illinois (one), Massachusetts (one), Michigan (one), Pennsylvania (one), Virginia (one) and Wisconsin (one). There is also a newcomer making the trek to Muncie all the way from Australia.
Ball State concluded the 2019 season 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the Mid-American Conference. The Cardinals won the Bronze Stalk Trophy from Northern Illinois for the first time since 2008 and capped the year by knocking off MAC champion Miami for the Red Bird Rivalry Trophy, 41-27. Ball State led the conference in scoring (34.8 points per game) and total offense (463.0 yards per game). BSU's defense tallied 24 turnovers, which ranked 15th nationally.
Ball State opens the 2020 season on Thursday, Sept. 3 with a home game against Maine. Other non-conference games include trips to Michigan (Sept. 12) and Indiana (Sept. 19), as well as a home game against Wyoming (Sept. 26). The league schedule will be announced at a later date.
