Opening Tip:
- Ball State and Bowling Green have met a total of 67 times in program history with the Falcons leading the all-time series record, 44-23.Â
- Ball State has won the last nine meetings between the two programs winning its last meeting 77-70 on Jan. 9, 2019 in Worthen Arena.
- The nine-game winning streak against the Falcons ranks the first between Ball State and any other MAC school. The next team was Miami, Ball State had defeated them seven times in a row until last season.
- Bowling Green opened its 2020 MAC season with a 78-61 road loss at Eastern Michigan Saturday while the Cardinals won their league opener 66-62 against Kent State Saturday afternoon in Worthen Arena.
- Ball State and Bowling Green first-ever meeting was in 1974-75, the Cardinals defeated the Falcons by a score of 58-52 in Terre Haute, Ind.
- The last time the Cardinals won their MAC opener was in 2017 when Ball State took down Toledo 51-45 in Savage Arena on Dec. 31. That year Ball State ended league play with a 14-4 mark and entered the 2017 MAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed.
Scouting Bowing Green:
- Bowling Green head coach Robyn Fralick is in her second season at Bowling Green. She has so far compiled an overall record of 16-27 (.372) and owns a 2-17 (.150) league ledger. The Falcons two wins last year in MAC player were against the top two teams in the MAC East Division. BGSU defeated Buffalo (78-72) and eventual MAC EAST Division champ Kent State (62-49) last year in the Stroh Center. Fralick is no stranger to the game, she played at Davidson (2000-04) and coached at Ashland as an assistant from (2008-15). She then assumed the role at Ashland as head coach from 2015-18. As a head coach at Ashland she compiled an overall record of 104-3 and 61-1 in the GLIAC.Â
- BGSU ended non-conference play with a 91-52 win over Davis & Elkins at the Stroh Center on Dec. 30. In that game, all 11 Falcons who saw action scored at least two points and had a at least one rebound.
- Down 22-points in their MAC opener, Bowling Green battled back against the Eagles Saturday after putting together a 22-8 run to get within eight points. But EMU held onto its first half lead and would win the ball game, 78-61.Â
- The Falcons have three players averaging double figures, with Caterrion Thompson leading the charge averaging 15.5 point per game. Angela Perry comes in second scoring 14.1 points per contest and Madisen Parker rounds out the double figure scoring for the Falcons with 12.9. Defensively, Kadie Hempfling leads the rebound category averaging 7.2 points per contest.
