- Saturday's game against Western Michigan will mark the 84th time in program history the two schools have met with Ball State leading the series record, 44-39.Â
-The last time the Cardinals swept the the Mid-American Conference regular season series against the Bronco was in 2017-18. WMU won both meetings against BSU last year. The Broncos defeated the Cardinals, 65-62 in Worthen Arena on Jan. 26 and then again in Kalamazoo by a score of 72-54 on March. 2. The Broncos have won the last three meetings over the Cardinals.
- Ball State owns a 24-8 ledger over Western Michigan dating back to the 2004-05 season. Brady Sallee owns an 11-4 career record against the Broncos.
 - Ball State is looking to rebound from its 69-68 loss at Kent State Wednesday night when it hosts the Broncos Saturday. The Cardinals are looking to remain undefeated at home in MAC play. Currently Ball State owns a 4-0 ledger in Worthen Arena against league opponents.
- The Broncos were scheduled to play at Miami Wednesday but the game was postponed due to two students possibly have the Coronavirus. That game has been rescheduled for Monday night at 7 p.m. WMU's last game was on Jan. 25, resulting in a 79-71 win over Akron in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Sallee vs The State of Michigan:
Ball State is 31-16 against Michigan schools during head coach Brady Sallee's seven seasons after beating Detroit Mercy (twice), Western Michigan (11 times), Eastern Michigan (11 times), Central Michigan (five times) and Oakland University (twice).
Home Sweet Home:
John E. Worthen Arena has been very good to the Cardinals for the past decade. Ball State has a record of 144-75 (.649) at Worthen Arena from 2004-present. In eight seasons Brady Sallee has compiled a 76-37 (.657)Â record in Worthen Arena. His best season at home was in 2017-18 when the Cardinals went 15-3 in Muncie. This year the Cardinals own a 7-1 ledger in Worthen Arena and a 4-0 league mark.
Scouting Western Michigan:
-The Broncos are coming off or win against Akron last Saturday in Kalamazoo, Mich. WMU defeated the Zips by a score of 79-71. Leighah-Amori Wool led the Broncos with a 21-point performance while adding eight rebounds.
- The Broncos have three players averaging double digit scoring; Jordan Walker (14.7 ppg), Breanna Mobley (13.5 ppg) and Leighah-Amori Wool (13.1 ppg).
- Shane Clipfell first year as the head coach of the Broncos was also Brady Sallee's first year at Ball State. Clipfell was familiar with the MAC as he was an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan for nine seasons. Prior to Western Michigan, Clipfell was an assistant coach at Michigan State. Clipfell's best season with the Broncos was in 2014-15, leading WMU to an overall record of 20-13 and an 11-7 MAC ledger.
- Head Coach Brady Sallee had not lost at home to Western Michigan until last season. Sallee currently owns a 6-1 mark over the Broncos in Worthen Arena.
