
WBB Continues Two-Game MAC Roadswing At Ohio Saturday

Opening Tip:
- Saturday's game against Ohio will mark the 64th time in program history the two schools have met with the Bobcats leading the all-time series record, 36-27. Ohio won both of its meetings against the Cardinals last season the last time was a 94-62 decision in Athens, Ohio on Feb. 2, 2019.
-From 1998-2006 the Cardinals had held a nine-game win streak over Ohio. The last time Ball State defeated Ohio was during Brady Sallee's first two seasons at the helm of the Cardinals. Ball State defeated Ohio on Jan. 26, 2013 in Worthen Arena, 77-46 and in Athens on Jan. 18, 2014 by a score of 79-63.
-Ball State will be looking to get back on the winning track against the Bobcats today. The Cardinals fell in MAC action on Wednesday 66-39 to conference leader Central Michigan on the road in McGuirk Arena. Prior to the contest, the Cardinals were undefeated in MAC play with a 3-0 ledger marking their best league start since the 2016-17 season. Ball State also rode a seven-game win streak into Wednesday's contest. It was the first loss for the Cardinals since falling 91-86 in overtime against Western Kentucky in Worthen Arena on Dec. 7.
- Ohio enters today's contest also off of the heels of a loss. The Bobcats fell at Western Michigan Wednesday by a score of 73-72 in Read Fieldhouse/University Arena. Junior guard CeCe Hooks led the Bobcats with 28 points, six steals, five rebounds and two assists.

Scouting Ohio
- The Bobcats faced two of the same non-conference opponents as the Cardinals this season. Ohio fell to Butler on Nov. 30 by a score of 60-55 while BSU defeated the Bulldogs in Worthen Arena 74-70 just a week earlier on Nov. 23. Ohio also played IUPUI this season beating the Jaguars, 7-64 on Dec. 7. The Cardinals opened their season against IUPUI losing in Indianapolis, 65-48, on Nov. 5.
- Ohio currently has the third best defense in the MAC this season allowing only 63.8 points per contest. Ohio's season best defensive effort was against UIW when OU won, 78-41. Ohio has allowed its opponents score less than 60 points five times this season.
- In the preseason MAC polls, Ohio was picked the favorite to win the regular season, east division and the tournament championship.
- Four Bobcats are currently averaging double figure scoring, led by Cierra Hooks who is averaging 16.1 points per game. Erica Johnson comes in second scoring 15.0 points per contest while also leading Ohio in rebounding (7.7). Amani Burke (13.6 ppg) and Gabby Burris (10.3 ppg) round out the double digit scoring, respectively for the Bobcats.
