Men Picked Fourth, Women Seventh in MAC Preseason Poll

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Mid-American Conference released its swimming and diving preseason polls Monday morning, and the men of the Ball State University swimming and diving team were picked to finish fourth while the women were selected seventh.
The men received 10 points in the voting while Missouri State earned 23 votes as the preseason favorite. Miami and Southern Illinois were predicted to finish second and third with Evansville rounding out the poll at fifth. The full results can be seen below.

3. Southern Illinois - 15
4. Ball State - 10
5. Evansville – 6
The women earned 15 points in the poll, and Akron was selected as the favorite with 64 points and all eight first place votes. Buffalo and Eastern Michigan rounded out the top three with Miami, Ohio and Bowling Green coming in at fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Toledo was tabbed to finish eighth behind the Cardinals. Ball State is just weeks away from kicking off its season at the Indiana Intercollegiate, hosted by Purdue University on Saturday, October 19. The first home meet of the season is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, when both Eastern Michigan and Wabash make the trip to Lewellen Aquatic Center.
