Soccer Opens MAC Play at Home Versus CMU Friday, EMU Sunday

MUNCIE, Ind. – After compiling a 6-2 record in nonconference play, the Ball State University soccer team opens its Mid-American Conference schedule when Central Michigan makes the trip to Muncie Friday and Eastern Michigan visits Sunday.

ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN (3-0-2, 0-0-0 MAC)
The Chippewas begin the MAC portion of their schedule as the only unbeaten team in the conference. A win at Kentucky and draw at Northwestern highlight the CMU schedule. Alina Miagkova is the leading goal scorer with two while five others have one goal each. Zoie Reed is in goal for Central Michigan and has 28 saves to go along with an unbeaten record.
SERIES HISTORY
Central Michigan owns a 14-7-2 advantage all time against the Cardinals. Last season's meeting between the two sides in Mount Pleasant, Mich. went to overtime before Ball State claimed a 2-1 victory on a game-winning goal from Tatiana Mason.
ABOUT EASTERN MICHIGAN (1-5-2, 0-0-0 MAC)
The Eagles played a challenging nonconference schedule to prepare them for league competition. EMU faced an early, three-game stretch at Michigan State, Louisville and Creighton. The lone win of the year for Eastern Michigan came against Detroit Mercy. The Eagles feature a balanced attack with five different players claiming one goal to date. Mabel Dunn has started all eight games in goal and has compiled 47 saves. The Eagles play Miami Thursday before making the trip to Muncie.
SERIES HISTORY
The Cardinals lead the series with the Eagles with an 11-7-2 record. Ball State made the trip to Ypsilanti, Mich. last season and came away victorious with a 1-0 win. Peighton Cook scored the game-winning goal.
