Another Top-5 Earns Tounalom MAC Golfer of the Week Honors

Senior led Cardinals to team victory at home tournament this week
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Coming off a second straight top-5 finish to open the season, Ball State's Manon Tounalom was named MAC Women's Golfer of the Week.
Tounalom placed fourth at the Cardinal Classic to lead BSU to a two-stroke victory in its annual home tournament. On a week in which The Players Club played to an average of nearly 80 strokes per round, Tounalom's total of 222 (+6) over 54 holes was more than 16 full shots better than the field average.
The senior from France guided Ball State to its first Cardinal Classic title in seven years, as BSU held off IUPUI down the stretch. Teammate Tiegan Taylor tied for fifth, one shot behind her, to give the Cardinals two top-5 finishers.
Tounalom, who opened the season with a runner-up finish at Illinois State's Redbird Invitational, has now finished in the top 25 in nine of her past 11 events dating back to last year. She owns a 73.17 scoring average through this season's first two tournaments.
The Cardinals will continue their fall season next week with a trip West to play in Colorado State's Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic. The action begins Monday in Fort Collins.
