Soccer Home Stand Continues with Illinois State, Loyola

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State University soccer team is back to work with a pair of home matches this week against Illinois State and Loyola after starting the season 2-0 on opening weekend.

ABOUT ILLINOIS STATE
The Redbirds kicked off the season with a 3-2 win against future Ball State opponent Omaha before falling to .500 with a loss to Kansas City. ISU is led by Kate Del Fava who has two goals on the year. Mikayla Unger also has one goal and one assist to her credit.
SERIES HISTORY
Illinois State holds a 4-1-1 advantage over the Cardinals all-time. Ball State won the last meeting, 1-0, in September of 2007.
ABOUT LOYOLA
The Ramblers faced a pair of difficult opponents to open the season and came away with losses at the hands of Illinois and Kansas. Aleksa Tataryn has the lone goal of the year for Loyola. Goalkeeper Grace Droesler recorded six saves against Kansas while Maddie Hausmann tallied three versus Illinois.
SERIES HISTORY
The Cardinals and Ramblers have met three times with Ball State holding a 2-1 advantage. Ball State won the most recent meeting, 3-1, in September 2008.
